I have witnessed similar occurences! This was NOT "Powerlifting" however. It was "Olympic Lifting"-There are NO overhead lifts in powerlifting. He was attempting a "Clean and jerk". Reporters should consult knowledgeable athletes/officials as to what is occuring, before making their statements. (I have lifted AND officiated, for both powerlifting and olympiclifting)
